Property managers face their own unique mental health challenges in real estate.
We have long to do lists, demanding and sometimes aggressive clients, detailed legislation that requires complicated compliance and sometimes not a lot of appreciation for the role.
But regardless of whether you work in a large property management team or just a small office, every property manager can access mental health support through the Rise Initiative.
The Rise Initiative supports property managers to better understand your mental health, embrace mental wellness and how to better manage the pressures of the job and thrive both professionally and personally.
Here’s how Rise can help property managers
Download the Real Care app
The Real Care app has been specially designed as an all-round app to help property managers improve performance, build resilience and support you if you’re feeling stuck or in crisis. It will help you deal with stress, manage anxiety, meditate, set goals, understand how you think and even sleep better. Plus there are three free counselling sessions courtesy of Domain for those times when you just need to speak to someone.
Free wellness training and webinars
On the first Wednesday of every month Rise hosts a free lunch time webinar from some of real estate and property managers best coaches. Learn skills and frameworks that will help your understanding of wellness, build your resilience, reflect on life and career goals and define your own ideas around success. We record all our sessions so even if you get caught up you can watch it on replay.
Access free counselling
Burnout is real in property management. But you don't need to wait to hit a crisis point before you reach out for help. Sometimes it can be hugely helpful to have someone independent to talk to who is not a friend, spouse or partner.
The Real Care app includes access to three free and completely confidential phone counselling sessions.
You can get advice and counselling on an issue you are personally experiencing or learn how to support a friend or family member if their behaviour is impacting you.
The free counselling service is provided through Domain and the Advantage EAP (Employee Assistance Program) service. All conversations are completely private and confidential.
Become a Rise Influencer
If you’ve had your own journey with mental health, experienced life challenging moments connected to your real estate career or have a heart-felt philosophy around performance, we’d love to hear from you. With the Rise Initiative, we’re always looking for inspirational stories to share with our audiences that normalise bolder conversations.
Attend Rise Leadership
You probably have principals in your group who impress you with their leadership skills and those who you believe could be really great if they just leaned in a little more. We encourage you to send them to the Rise Leadership conference where we explore the modern challenges of leadership and provide new frameworks for connecting with purpose and helping your team to thrive. We also encourage you to bring your executive team.
Train key members of your leadership team in mental health support
The Rise Initiative works with mental health first aid providers to deliver training for mental health. Just as you have fire and safety wardens, you can train key members of your executive team to deliver mental health first aid and preventative programs.
