Leading Victorian real estate group Nelson Alexander has announced a generous $10,000 donation to the Rise Initiative, reinforcing the group's reputation as a pioneer in integrating mental wellbeing with high-level professional performance.
The contribution highlights the deep-rooted connection between the two organisations. Nelson Alexander CEO James Keenan was a founding director of the Rise Initiative, helping to establish its mission to improve the mental health of property professionals.
This latest donation underscores the agency’s belief that emotional intelligence (EQ) and mental resilience are just as critical to a successful career as sales strategy.
Mr Keenan said supporting Rise was a natural extension of the group's culture, which views the agent as a "corporate athlete" who needs holistic support to perform at their peak.
"At Nelson Alexander, we have always believed that you cannot separate the professional from the person,” Mr Keenan said.
“To be a top performer in today’s market requires high emotional intelligence and a resilient mindset. If you aren't looking after your mental health, your performance will eventually hit a ceiling.”
"Having been involved with the Rise Initiative since its inception, I have seen firsthand the life-saving impact and difference this charity makes.
“Nelson Alexander is proud to contribute $10,000 to ensure Rise can continue its work to help agents and property managers - and everyone working in the industry - build not just better careers, but better lives."
The donation was warmly welcomed by Rise Initiative Chairman Nick West, who holds a unique perspective on the partnership as he also serves as a Director at Nelson Alexander.
"It is incredibly rewarding to see my own network, Nelson Alexander, continue to lead the way in industry wellness,” Mr West said.
“This isn't just a corporate donation; it is a statement of intent from one of Victoria's best performing groups that mental health matters.”
The $10,000 will assist the Rise Initiative in delivering its mental health education programs and maintaining the Real Care app, a performance tool that helps agents build resilience, deal with stress and provides free counselling and crisis support.
“We know that real estate is an infinite game, and longevity in this industry relies on balance. Nelson Alexander understands that better than anyone,” Mr West said.
