Tenant anger rising, says PM survey

A recent report by the America’s National Apartment Association reveals a complex picture of the property management industry.

While a majority of the 1000 respondents express job satisfaction and report a good work-life balance, significant challenges persist.

The survey highlighted that dealing with abusive or aggressive tenants is the top concern, cited by 22% of respondents.

Mental health and the inability to disconnect from work after hours follow closely at 16.3%. Staffing issues ranked third at 14.3%. These primary concerns remain largely unchanged from a 2022 survey.

A concerning trend is the impact on health, with 59% reporting effects on their physical health and 79% on their mental health, showing a 4% increase in mild and moderate mental health impacts since 2022.

The report suggests that heightened job demands and persistent stress contribute to these health concerns.

Despite these challenges, many respondents express satisfaction with their employers. Some 83% are satisfied with their company, and 74% feel their jobs are secure.
