Triple Olympic champion and real estate leader to share insights on peak performance, resilience and mental wellness at Australia's premier industry leadership event
Triple Olympic gold medalist and Marshall White General Manager Drew Ginn OAM will be the featured speaker at the Rise Leadership Breakfast, held as part of The Business of Real Estate conference on the Gold Coast.
The Rise Leadership Breakfast brings together real estate industry leaders for an intimate morning event focused on performance, wellbeing and leadership — three pillars that have defined Ginn's extraordinary career both on the water and in the property sector. It is part of a broader program that explores the challenges and skills needed to successfully lead real estate teams.
A CHAMPION'S JOURNEY FROM OLYMPIC GLORY TO REAL ESTATE
Drew Ginn is one of Australia's most decorated athletes. A four-time Olympian, three-time Olympic gold medalist and five-time World Champion, Ginn first captured the nation's attention as a member of Australia's legendary "Oarsome Foursome" rowing crew, winning gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics alongside Nick Green, Mike McKay and James Tomkins.
He went on to win gold in the coxless pairs at the 2004 Athens Olympics with Tomkins and again at the 2008 Beijing Olympics with Duncan Free, before claiming a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics — a career spanning nearly two decades at the highest level of international sport.
Since transitioning from elite sport, Ginn has brought his championship mindset to the real estate industry as General Manager of Marshall White's Bayside division, where he leads operations with a focus on performance, learning and team culture.
"What drew me to real estate was how much it reminded me of being in sport — the pace, the personalities, the stories, the processes and the great people striving to become better," Drew said. "The mindset required to succeed at the Olympics is the same mindset that drives success in real estate: know your purpose, invest in your relationships, and never forget you're part of a team."
The chair of the Rise Initiative, Nick West, said Drew’s story was the perfect embodiment of what Rise stands for.
“Drew has navigated the pressures of elite competition, overcome serious physical setbacks, and built a thriving second career in our industry. His message — that peak performance is inseparable from personal wellbeing and strong team culture and the techniques to build that culture — is exactly what today's real estate leaders need to hear."
The Rise Leadership Breakfast is now the Rise flagship event this year, providing an opportunity for industry leaders to explore the connection between mental wellness and top performance, and practical tools to empower how they lead their teams.
The breakfast is being coordinated with the Business of Real Estate conference, Australasia's premier leadership conference for the real estate industry. Now in its 11th year, the conference brings together more than 500 industry leaders on the Gold Coast for two days of world-class speakers, practical strategies and unparalleled networking.
The 2026 conference takes place on 8-9 September on the Gold Coast, with a bonus half-day session on 10 September for independent agencies.
The Business of Real Estate Founder, Michael Sheargold - a long-time supporter of Rise - said the conference was proud to make the Rise Initiative its charity partner for the event.
“Our partnership with Rise reflects the growing recognition that wellbeing and performance go hand in hand,” Michael said.
“This is an incredible opportunity to share a vital message with our community. We know that the best leaders are those focused on building sustainable, healthy teams. When we embrace the
philosophy that better people produce better results and create better businesses, everyone
succeeds.”
The Rise Leadership Breakfast adds a powerful wellness and leadership dimension to the conference program, reinforcing the growing recognition within the industry that looking after people is the foundation of business success.
